The CzechInvest Agency, in cooperation with its partners, has launched a new platform called Czechia Dealroom containing key information about the Czech innovation ecosystem and its entities. The main goal is to make Czech startups, innovative companies and technology companies visible to international investors and partners.
“With this, the Czech Republic joins the most advanced countries in the world with a comprehensive presentation of its innovation ecosystem in one place. With the launch of the Czechia Dealroom platform, we are shifting the global perception of our country as an innovative economy. Specifically, this means that our innovation ecosystem will now be visible to investors, potential innovation partners and customers from all over the world,” says Jan Michal, Director General of CzechInvest.
The platform offers unique opportunities for all participants in the innovation ecosystem. It contains a comprehensive presentation of startups, innovative SMEs, technology corporations operating in the Czech Republic, universities, public research organisations, venture capital investors and the network of accelerators and business incubators, i.e. the so-called innovation ecosystem. Foreign investors can easily identify promising Czech start-ups, multinational corporations can find partners for their R&D activities and Czech companies can get a better overview of local accelerators and incubators.
In addition to increasing the visibility of Czech startups and innovative companies, the platform also enables easier access to foreign investors and partners, clear mapping of technology sectors, monitoring the performance of the Czech innovation ecosystem according to international standards and effective networking of local and international entities. The platform also allows startups to edit and update their own records, which will help us keep the data up-to-date.
The project was created with the support of key partners including innovation network agencies Ynovate, CzechFounders and Tensor Ventures. “Whatthe CzechInvest team has created here follows a good example of foreign advanced ecosystems. It is essential that we have a single place – a point of truth where the various parties of the investment ecosystem will meet, where they can see what is currently happening and where we are moving as a startup economy. Great work,” says Ondřej Lipold of Tensor Ventures.
For example, information available on Czechia Dealroom shows that more than CZK 6 billion was invested in Czech startups in 2024, with startups in the fintech, enterprise software, food and travel sectors regularly receiving significant investments. In particular, a well-established business in the enterprise software sector in the Czech Republic is on its way to becoming a global unicorn – a startup with a value of more than USD 1 billion, such as Productboard, Mews and Ataccama, Rossum, Keboola and others are also well on their way.
The Czechia Dealroom platform also offers over 4,000 job opportunities in startups and technology corporations after a free login. In addition, people can find more than 1,600 promising venture capital-backed startups, over 500 technology corporations and an equal number of venture capital investors. The platform also includes information on more than 100 accelerators supporting startups and tracks the performance of startups in all regions of the Czech Republic and showcases promising startups in 7 priority hubs.
A comprehensive startup database from Czech Founders also helps to refine the data for the newly created platform. “When we started our own database of Czech startups more than three years ago, we knew it was the first step towards something bigger. Today, our original project is moving to an international level thanks to our partnership with CzechInvest and Dealroom, which will bring visibility and connection to the world to the Czech ecosystem. This partnership means access to an internationally recognized platform for mapping the startup ecosystem, the opportunity to connect Czech startups with global investors and partners, detailed analytical tools for tracking the development of the Czech startup environment, and generally making Czech startups more visible internationally,” says Barbora Werdmölder, Director of Czech Founders.
Czechia Dealroom, developed together with the leading global company Dealroom.co, is a tool for actively connecting the Czech innovation ecosystem with the world. The platform uses a uniform methodology for tracking the performance of innovation ecosystems, which is also used by the European Commission, allowing direct comparison with the world’s most advanced economies.
