The Bundestag will have a new mobile app. The tender was won by the young Czech technology company Ackee thanks to its sophisticated UX design. It will replace the current application made in 2010 with almost 850,000 downloads that no longer meets the technical requirements. The new app targets on anyone who is interested in actual happening in Bundestag.
Ackee was successful in the tender mainly thanks to the proposed concept and has beaten the other applicants. The app will include sections with information about deputies and committees, Livestream from meetings, current news from the Bundestag and archive of videos and articles. “We will simplify navigation and make the app faster,” said Josef Gattermayer, CEO of German branch Ackee.
Ackee will connect modern design with German minimalism. During the designing of the new application, a user-friendly environment was a priority – a big attention was paid to typography, colors and simple navigation elements. This new design will present the constitutional authority in a modern world of applications with dignity. It will be available for Android and iOS platforms.
Negotiations about the new Bundestag application take place in Berlin, the current mobile app will be replaced by the end of the second quarter of 2018.
