Startups looking for investors or expanding their operations can now use a free sample investment documentation to help make the process of raising funds from investors easier and faster. The documentation has been created by the Czech Startup Documentation initiative, bringing together 19 leading law firms.
The aim of the initiative was to create a set of documents covering the basic stages and aspects of venture capital investment in startups. The documents are based on international standards and reflect Czech legislation and market practice. This will allow the parties to focus more on the business side of things and less on legal issues.
“The standard investment documentation is the result of the cooperation and expertise of leading law firms experienced in providing legal advice to startups and large investors. Their goal was to create documents that are clear, balanced, and effective,” says Zuzana Picková, CEO of the Czech Private Equity & Venture Capital Association.
The initiative is a living project. In the future, it plans to update the documentation regularly, whether based on its own experience, feedback from the market or changes in legislation. The plan is also to expand the list to include other documents encountered in venture capital investment.
The standard investment documentation is available free of charge on the project website: https://czechstartupdocs.com/. Here it is also possible to find more information about the initiative, including a list of law firms that have been involved in the preparation of the standard documentation.
